VAT Refund (September, 2013)

We successfully represented a global waste management company before Romanian Tax Authority (ANAF) in connection with more consecutive VAT refund applications amounting to more than EUR 800.000. Whilst in two cases we proficiently recovered the VAT by applicable procedures, in one case the VAT was recovered in court and in other case the Tax Authority discharged its own negative initial decision to refuse VAT refund and admitted to proceed to the reassessment of the documents and the reissuance of a new decision. The representation included advising on the legally required form of the supporting documents, managing the relationships with the suppliers in such purpose, drafting the claims and representation before the court and the relevant tax authority.
